Our Origin Story
Vaebae is a woman-owned luxury resort wear and lounge fashion brand, designed in Hana, Hawaiʻi and made in small batches at a women-owned factory in Los Angeles. Every piece is crafted from bio-based modal — a fiber drawn from beechwood pulp, biodegradable and light — and cut with the Unfettered Edge finish, our signature raw-cut philosophy that removes restriction and lets the garment move the way the body does.
This is the story of where it began.
The Departure
Vaebae began with a simple, urgent refusal to be contained.
We spent too long navigating the density of a world that demanded we stay still—bound by clothes that dictated our shape rather than honoring our rhythm. The search for a "Second Skin" led us out of that heavy stillness and toward the coast, where the light changes and the landscape opens.
This is our origin: a transition from the restrictive to the fluid, moving away from the "noise" and toward an Architecture of Delight.
We didn't just design a collection.
We listened for a frequency of total release.

We believe in the beauty of the unfinished. Our signature "Unfettered Edge" is a raw-cut finish that eliminates the friction of traditional seams. By removing the stitch, we allow the fabric to fall as nature intended—yielding to your proportions and moving with your unique rhythm.

Our silhouettes are crafted from a high-composition Bio-Based Modal—a fiber derived from the regenerative pulp of beechwood trees. Unlike conventional cotton, our modal requires significantly less land and water to thrive, resulting in a fabric that is naturally breathable, biodegradable, and silken to the touch.
To achieve our signature "Second-Skin" fit, we need a percentage of spandex, ensuring the garment honors your body’s fluid transitions without losing its structural integrity.
